The Airport Authority employees union have called a 48 hour strike from April 30 midnight at all airports in the country to protest against privatization of airports.

An spokesman of Airport Authority employees union has said that the strike had been called as the Airport Authority of India (AAI) management was offering VRS to employees and resorting to ‘illegal’ transfers.

He further said that the AAI management had also threatened to introduce Compulsory Retirement Schemes (CRS) to curtail employee strength. He said that if the AII management did not meet their demands, the union would call for an indefinite strike.
