Eight tourists killed as bus fell in to a gorge in Himachal

At least eight tourists have been killed and five injured when the bus they were traveling rolled down a gorge in Kullu district of Himachal Pradesh on Wednesday. Most of the victims were from Kolkata. The tourists, identified as BSNL employees and their family members, were on a private visit to the state when the Bus fell into gorge near Sojha village in Banjar sub-division of Kullu.

A senior official of Police said, “The bus was fell into a 1,000 feet deep gorge”. He further said that injured tourists were rushed to a government hospital in Banjar. He told mediapersons that the tourists were coming from Ani to Banjar when the accident occurred. Most of the victims belonged to Kolkata. The mini-bus was hired from Punjab.
