Heavy rains lash Delhi, Traffic Jams in capital

Heavy rains lashed several parts of the New Delhi today evening, bringing much needed relief to Delhiites who have been reeling under sweltering heat for the last couple of days. The downpour that lasted for over an hour resulted in water logging and slowing down of traffic in some areas.

Traffic jams have been reported from major intersections such as India Gate, ITO, R K Puram and other areas of Delhi. The central control room of MCD received complaints of water-logging from areas like Model Town, Azadpur, Munirka and Dwarka.

The rain has brought down temperature to comfortable level as the mercury plummeted to 36.5 degrees. The maximum temperature was recorded at 36.5 degrees Celsius while the minimum was recorded at 30.1 degrees.
