Heavy rains likely in Konkan, Goa and many other places
Jun 29th, 2009 | By admin | Category: Breaking News, India News, Weather NewsHeavy to heavy rains are likely to occur at many places in Assam, Meghalaya, Konkan, Goa, West Bengal, Sikkim, Orissa, Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha, coastal Karnataka, east Uttar Pradesh, Kerala, Lakshadweep and Bihar.
Rain or thundershowers are likely to occur at many places in Arunachal Pradesh, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Jharkhand, Bihar, west Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, at a few places in Jammu and Kashmir, Gujarat, Madhya Maharashtra, Marathwada, Telanagana and interior Karnataka. The south-west monsoon has been active in sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim, Madhya Pradesh and Vidarbha. It has been subdued in Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu and north interior Karnataka.
Severe heat wave conditions prevailed over Jammu, in parts of Haryana and at isolated places in Punjab. Heat wave conditions also prevailed in northwest Rajasthan. In the regions where the south-west monsoon is yet to set in, day temperatures were appreciably above normal in west Uttar Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh and Kashmir and in remaining parts of Punjab.
