Mumbai experiences pre-monsoon showers
May 20th, 2009 | Category: India News, Mumbai NewsWith the early onset of monsoon in Andaman and Nicobar Islands on Wednesday, Mumbai experienced pre-monsoon showers in some parts of the city today. Meteorology Department has forecast light rains in various parts of the city during the next 48 hours.
An official of Meteorology Department said, “This is pre-monsoon showers. There is development of thunderclouds in Western Ghats (South-East of Mumbai) which is drifting towards Mumbai. Therefore, there is possibility of lightning and light rains in Mumbai during the next 48 hours”.
