BJP MP Navjot Singh Sidhu has on Friday resigned from his Lok Sabha seat to protest against his party accommodating a leader who had worked against him in the recently concluded Lok Sabha polls. Mr Sidhu dashed off his letter to Leader of the Opposition L K Advani stating that he could not work in the post if the party accommodated people who worked against it during the Lok Sabha polls.

Sidhu cited the name of Mr Rajinder Mohan Singh Chinna, who was recently appointed Chairman, Amritsar Improvement Trust Board. By sending the resignation to Mr Advani and not to Lok Sabha Speaker Meira Kumar, Mr Sidhu was only trying to draw party’s attention that it was accommodating anti-party forces, the party sources said.
