Results of 8th class of PSEB 2010 declared, Mehak Sharma tops

PSEB has declared it’s eight results today. Mehak Sharma, a student of Sarv Hitkari Senior Secondary Vidya Mandir, Barnala has stood first in the middle standard examination of the Punjab School Education Board by scoring 847 out of 900 marks.

The second position is bagged by Harmanjeet Kaur, a student of BJSFS Senior Secondary Public School, Fatehgarh Sahib, and Gagandeep Kaur, a student of Sarv Hitkari Vidya Mandir Senior Secondary School, Dhura (Dhuri), with both securing 93.89 per cent marks. Arundeep Kaur, a student of Nankana Sahib Model High School, Janta Nagar, Ludhiana, has come third by securing 93.78 per cent marks.

The board’s Chairman, Dr Dalbir Singh Dhillon, said the combined pass percentage of girls (regular and private students) was 76.76 per cent as compared to 69.81 per cent of boys. The overall pass percentage of students in the middle standard result has increased to 72.89 per cent as compared to 63.75 per cent in 2009.
