Star Plus TV channel today earned the ire of Rajya Sabha Members, and subsequently of the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting for its highly popular reality show “Sach Ka Saamna”. The channel was sent a show cause notice by the Ministry, after Members in the Rajya Sabha raised objections to the show, saying ”obscene questions” were being asked about participants’ personal life in the presence of their family members.

The issue was raised by Samajwadi Party MP Kamala Akhtar, who said the contents of the programme were against the Indian culture. The Channel has been asked to reply to the notice by July 27. The issue agitated the members cutting across party lines in the Rajya Sabha.
