Thousands of tourists trapped in MP
Jul 22nd, 2009 | By admin | Category: Breaking News, India News, States NewsHoshangabad: Thousands of tourists have been trapped as the Pipariya-Pachmarhi road is blocked due to the Denwa River being in spate at Matkuli near this district’s famous Pachmarhi hill-station. Water is flowing over a bridge between Matkuli and Pachmarhi.
In view of the surging water, it is unlikely that movement will be restored before morning. Several devotees come here these days to attend the Nagdwari fair. Many of the devotees are from Maharashtra especially that state’s Vidarbha region. The district administration is endeavoring to provide food and water to the tourists.
