Two firefighters killed as fire engine falls into drain at IGI Airport
May 30th, 2009 | By admin | Category: Breaking News, Delhi News, India NewsAt least two firefighters have been killed and three other injured when a fire engine being used by them for a drill careened down the path at the new runway and tumbled into a drain at the IGI airport of New Delhi last night.
The incident occurred when Ashok Chandra Verma, senior coordinator, along with driver Niresh Yadav and three other firefighters were testing the ultra-modern fire-fighting vehicle. The vehicle veered of the runway near Zullu taxiway and flipped over into a storm-water drain that runs parallel to the new runway.
